QUESTIONS?

FAQ: FAQ

HOW DO I BOOK?

The first step is to get in contact with me. We can then discuss the dates and times and what to expect. Once you are booked in there is no need to pay up front. We will meet in Taman Negara before your trek begins, to go through the essentials.

HOW DO I PAY?

The best way is with cash, before the trek starts.

DO I NEED ACCOMMODATION?

Unless we are camping out int the forest all accommodation in Taman Negara national park is in Kuala Tahan. This is also the starting place for all of my tours. If you would like me to arrange accommodation for your stay in Kuala Tahan I am more than happy to help.

ARE THE TREKS DIFFICULT?

If you want, then yes! But I can tailor them to your needs.

WHAT DO WE EAT?

I will provide all of the food and water for our trek, and we will carry it between us and cook it together in the forest. If you have any dietary requirements, then please let me know. The food is simple but tastes good! Nothing tastes quite as good as a vegetable noodle soup, followed by cake and jungle tea, at our camp after a hard days trek. If you are staying in Kuala Tahan there are plenty of place to eat out.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

On the longer treks you will need a large comfortable hiking bag, with enough space to carry your share of the food and water. A pair of comfortable walking boots are a must. A torch & camera. Water proof bag inliners (useful for keeping cameras and spare clothes dry) and enough clothes for the trip. Your clothes will get wet, so bring spares. Light breathable clothes are ideal. I like to bring a small towel or rag to wipe my face as I am walking. I will provide all the camping equipment, the food and water, and sleeping bags.

WILL WE SEE ANIMALS?

Seeing the larger animals is extremely rare, but not impossible. We have elephants, rhinos, snakes, spiders, monkeys, the list goes on and on... The only animal that I can guarantee we won't see is a tiger. They are in the forest but they stay clear of humans.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?

The best time to visit is...

WHO ARE THE ORANG ASLI?

The Orang Asli are the native peoples who still live in the forest. It is possible to visit their villages and learn about their way of life - should you wish. I am fortunate to count many of them as my close friends.
